Jaws Corner

If you've ever joined the ever-present crowd to watch a football game, a poorly-dubbed movie, or for some hot chai at the famous hangout spot,"Jaws Corner".

Well, today Jaws Corner got a face-lift.

An artist was re-inventing the former shark, as it had been defaced.

Patchwork Elephant

Painted by the talented Mrefu, this unique painting has texture beneath the paint which increases the 'pop' of the facial features and trunk.
It took several days to complete, but the end result is stunning.

It Takes a Team

Dson Art Gallery relies on a whole host of people who contribute to this gallery. Beyond the creative artists, we need a lot of help to prepare even one painting.
Take a look at all the people who help out at Dson Gallery:

From the guys who prepare the frames and canvasses, working hard in the back room.

To the fella who helps keep our place clean, we would be a real mess without him!

Our contracted artists. Some paint here at the gallery (this guy always has candies in his pocket, and don't the neighborhood kiddos know it! They all crowd the doorway on the days he paints).

One day we had three people painting at once in the entrance of the gallery - that was a crowded day, but with the bright paint, some music anv lots of laughing it felt like a party!

Hand of Africa

From the imagination of Ellen, our creative manager, and the talent of Dickson, gallery director we have an authentic original:

The Hand Of Africa.

Unfortunately,  it was very popular,  and we immediately received special requests for similar in various colors and sizes.
But this was the first and we can never make another exactly like it.

You can order, but your 'Hand' will have its own personality and reflect where you call home.

The Process

Painters need the right atmosphere.  Sometimes a little music inspiring the mood, or the right time of day.

Last night it was some Swahili rap at night time and some good friends to make some colorful works.
